Bid packets are now available for the demolition of East Middle School. Sealed bids are to be turned in to Mike Johnson, Director of Construction, at Joplin Schools Administrative Building, 3901 E 32nd St, Joplin, by 3:00 pm, February 10, 2012. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 3:00 pm, February 2, 2012, at the Joplin Schools Administrative Building. Find bid packets and more information.
Community input meeting set for new Joplin High School / Franklin Technology Center
In just a few weeks, you'll have an opportunity to get a first look at the plans and ideas for the new JHS / FTC campus and a chance to share your thoughts and ideas. The architects and the design team for the new school will be on hand at a community input meeting Thursday, February 9, at 5:30 pm, at the JHS 11-12 Campus at Northpark Mall. The purpose of the meeting is to share the ideas gathered from several visioning sessions and site visits and to give a preview of preliminary site plans and sketches. We hope to see you there!
Own a piece of history and help rebuild Joplin Schools
You can now purchase custom-imprinted Joplin High School bricks for $50 each. All proceeds raised from the brick campaign will benefit Operation Rising Eagle, the rebuilding fund for Joplin Schools. Americorp volunteers hand-cleaned and painted each brick. The bricks were then sealed and volunteers applied the image by hand before it was permanently set.
